The club members presented him with an ornate dhoti and a casket of spices. It was the youngest participant of the tour, Alan Christy (7) from Thrissur, who gave the present to the Maharajah. Each of us gave him a book as a token of our love towards him. We left the palace after enjoying the ice-cream given by the royal family. Next, we went to the Legislative Assembly where the ruling party and the opposition cross sword with each other. This huge edifice has been accounted as one hundred crore rupees. It is the biggest Legislative Assembly Building in India. The official who accompanied us explained to us everything including the construction of the building and the seating arrangements for the Chief Minister, other ministers and the members of the ruling party and the opposition. When we reached the palace we were given a warm welcome by Her Highness Aswathi Thirunal Gowri Lakshmi Bai. Within a few minutes, there came His Highness Uthradam Thirunal Marthandavarma. We spent half-an hour in conversation with him.
